Transition Projects The Mentor Program 51,1501 Peer Support Specialist Training This is a program for adults that have experienced homelessness. This program aims to support the professional development of mentors by providing them with training and internship opportunities that could lead to sustainable employment. Mentors provide friendly support and guidance to participants who may be overwhelmed by the bureaucratic intricacies of obtaining housing, employment, training and/or skills. In addition to completing all training and internship hours, participants are required to pass an oral exam with a review panel consisting of the program manager, a mentor program graduate, and an additional staff member. This program is designed to have on-the-job experience internally across Transition Projects various programs.
